Bona Resilient Floor Restoration for Commercial Properties in London & the Southeast

An eco-friendly, certified system that restores worn linoleum, PVC, vinyl, rubber, LVT and safety flooring to their original condition — without replacement. Fraction of the cost, fraction of the disruption.

Overview

Restore Instead of Replace and Save Significantly

Resilient flooring (linoleum, PVC, vinyl, rubber, LVT and safety flooring) is the workhorse of commercial buildings. It covers millions of square metres of school corridors, hospital wards, office lobbies, leisure centres and retail spaces across the UK.

The problem is that over time, even the toughest resilient floor loses its finish. Foot traffic strips the surface coating, cleaning chemicals degrade the protective layer, and the floor begins to look dull, scratched and tired. At that point, most building managers assume replacement is the only option.

In the majority of cases, it isn't. The Bona Resilient Flooring System is a professional restoration process that strips back the degraded surface layer and applies a new protective finish, returning the floor to near-original condition at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

As Bona Certified Contractors, Quicksand Flooring is qualified and equipped to carry out this process to manufacturer specification across London and the Southeast.

The Bona Resilient System

A Certified Process, Not Just a Clean

It's important to understand what the Bona Resilient system is and what it isn't. This is not a standard commercial clean or a consumer polish product applied with a mop. It is a structured, multi-stage professional process using Bona's purpose-developed equipment and chemistry.

The system works by first stripping the old, degraded finish using Bona's specialist cleaning and stripping solutions applied with professional scrubbing machinery. This brings the floor back to a clean, receptive base.

A fresh protective coating is then applied using Bona's resilient floor finishing products. These are water-based, low-VOC formulations that are safer for operatives and building occupants than traditional solvent-based alternatives.

The result is a floor that looks, performs and protects as it was originally specified, without the material waste, installation cost and operational disruption of replacement.

Floor Types

What the System Works On

Linoleum

One of the oldest and most sustainable commercial floor materials, linoleum is found extensively in healthcare, education and public sector buildings. It responds particularly well to the Bona system, which restores its natural lustre and protective surface without affecting inherent durability or sustainability credentials.

PVC and Vinyl Sheet

Among the most common commercial floor coverings in the UK, found in offices, retail spaces, leisure centres and public buildings. The Bona system deep-cleans and recoats the surface, restoring appearance and protection.

Rubber Flooring

Common in gyms, sports facilities, healthcare environments and areas requiring impact absorption. Rubber is a challenging material to restore correctly; the Bona system is specifically formulated to work with rubber substrates safely and effectively.

LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile)

Increasingly specified in high-end commercial environments for its aesthetic quality and durability. LVT that has lost its finish looks significantly worse than standard vinyl. Restoration returns the floor to the premium appearance it was specified to deliver.

Safety Flooring

Anti-slip safety flooring in healthcare, food service and industrial environments cannot simply be restored using generic products. The Bona Resilient system maintains safety flooring's essential protective properties, which means restored floors remain compliant without requiring costly replacement and re-testing.

Why Restoration

Why Restoration Makes More Sense Than Replacement

Cost

Professional restoration typically costs a fraction of the equivalent floor replacement, including materials, preparation, installation and waste disposal.

Speed

Restoration can typically be completed in a single visit, with the floor back in use the following day.

Disruption

We carry out work outside normal operating hours as standard. Staff, students or customers simply return to a floor that looks significantly better.

Sustainability

Restoration extends the useful life of an existing floor, reduces landfill and avoids the manufacturing and transport footprint of new materials.

Longevity

A restored floor, properly maintained thereafter with appropriate daily cleaning products and periodic professional treatments, will continue to perform well for years before restoration is required again.

Who We Work With

Commercial Sectors We Serve

Healthcare

NHS trusts, private hospitals, care homes, GP surgeries and dental practices. Linoleum and vinyl are ubiquitous in healthcare settings. Restoration maintains hygienic, easy-clean surfaces without the disruption of replacement in operational clinical environments.

Education

Schools, colleges and universities. Large areas of resilient flooring in corridors, classrooms, canteens and sports changing rooms. Work carried out during holidays or out-of-hours to avoid disruption to the school day.

Offices and Corporate Premises

Vinyl and LVT in open-plan offices, breakout areas and reception spaces. Restoration during evenings or weekends keeps the building fully operational.

Retail

High-footfall retail environments where floor appearance directly affects customer experience. Quick-turnaround restoration with minimal trading disruption.
